Why I Love Liverpool Part I

Wylie, the soi-disant poet-ruffian, is perhaps the most underrated songwriter of his generation. And I am sure that he likes it that way. Pete, please Come Back.

A pity that there aren't any modern rockstars with his level of charisma around now ("charisma" these days is usually applied to someone like Johnny Borrell).

Apparently Pete is still playing live occasionally but somehow I don't think any new recorded work is likely in the short term.

i saw him a couple of years ago at a gig in london and he was absolutely electric. the man still has it - unfortunately he doesn't have a deal though.

Wylie bears more than a passing resemblance to a young Elvis in this video. It's not for nothing that he named his large house in South Liverpool 'Greaseland'.
